Job Information

The Budget Data Manager shall include, but is not limited to:

  • Provides recommendation and advice to executives, managers and operational personnel by performing functions which include a broad range of planning, independent research, analysis and program management functions addressing the most complex issues relative to the Bureau
  • Regularly apply updates to the division’s budget database by way of programming to create queries, codes and forms that improve end-user functionality. Provide training and instruction to budget analysts in one-on-one and group settings
  • Independently plan, research and analyze a broad range of management/program functions addressing the most widely diverse, complex and difficult duties related to a wide array of administrative issues including, but not limited to, budget and financial management, facilities management, and/or training that have a direct impact on operations and missions
  • Perform a wide range of qualitative and quantitative assessments which require consideration of large number of variables. Assessments result in feasible and effective resolution including the improvement of the most complex management/program processes
  • Develop proposals and recommendations for significant organizational changes. Analyse work procedures to determine appropriateness and feasibility. Review staffing levels in order to determine the impact of personnel resources and reprogram work years
  • Prepare and/or direct preparation of project plans to be utilized in concurrently conducting several major management/program analysis projects which include planning analysis, evaluating program plan development, performance measurements and strategic and cost analysis. Select the methodology and all applicable procedures to be utilized. Ensure valid sample sizes and population of testing. Implement additions/modifications to proposed plan
  • Prepare, present and defend recommendations and findings to executive management in the most complex written reports, memoranda, executive summaries and analytical narratives. These serve as the basis for decisions regarding the continuation, re-direction, or termination of major projects. Respond to the requests/inquiries and or develop policies and models for external entities
  • Inform higher-level management of highly sensitive budgetary analysis, project cost estimations and/or controversial issues and recommend and/or implement appropriate action regarding substantial changes to resolve them
  • Establish and maintain close liaison with high-level management personnel throughout the FBi and executives from other agencies, to resolve the most complex administrative issues/problems; and obtain information necessary to formulate accurate conclusions
  • Provide advice and recommendation to other employees as well as representatives of other agencies to ensure efficient, effective and progressive management/program analysis and research techniques. Assign segments of the studies to various participants and coordinate the efforts of the group. Review work for accuracy, content and adherence to procedures and policies.

Education and Experience

  • BS or BA degree in Business, Finance or Economics
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in providing budgeting/finance in the government or private sector
